Position Summary
Compactor Rentals of America is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to support the Company’s accounting, financial planning, treasury, and acquisition-related initiatives. This role will play a critical part in cash flow management, debt covenant reporting, budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis, and mergers & acquisitions integration activities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with evolving priorities and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Debt Covenant & Cash Flow Reporting
• Prepare and maintain daily cash inflow and outflow reporting to support liquidity visibility and decision-making.
• Develop and manage short-term and long-term cash planning and forecasting models.
• Monitor and track purchase order activity, including reporting and analysis of commitments and spending trends.
• Prepare monthly lender covenant calculations and compliance reporting packages.
• Assist leadership with treasury-related analysis, liquidity planning, and working capital management initiatives.
• Support continuous improvement efforts related to cash management reporting and forecasting processes.
Mergers & Acquisitions Support
• Partner with external Quality of Earnings (QoE) advisors on accounting and finance-related due diligence activities.
• Coordinate with external purchase price accounting consultants to support acquisition accounting, integration activities, and related journal entries.
• Prepare opening balance sheets for newly acquired entities.
• Collaborate with sellers, operational leadership, and internal stakeholders to support transition activities and post-close integration efforts.
• Assist in building and transitioning month-end close reporting processes for acquired companies into Compactor Rentals of America’s reporting structure and standards.
• Support acquisition integration projects, process documentation, and operational alignment initiatives as needed.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis
• Support the annual budgeting process and mid-year forecasting activities through financial analysis, data gathering, and preparation of supporting schedules.
• Prepare and analyze actual versus budget reporting, including variance analysis and management reporting.
• Assist in identifying financial trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic decision-making.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports, dashboards, and operational analyses for leadership review.
• Support strategic initiatives through financial modeling, scenario analysis, and data-driven recommendations.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives focused on enhancing reporting accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
General Accounting & Operational Support
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, reconciliations, and financial reporting as needed.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, accounting, finance, and executive leadership teams.
• Support special projects, system implementations, integration activities, and other ad hoc assignments as business needs evolve.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 4 years of experience in FP&A, accounting, corporate finance, or related roles.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
• Experience supporting debt covenant reporting, budgeting/forecasting, or M&A integration activities preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems required.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Attributes
• CPA or CMA designation preferred but not required.
• Experience in multi-entity or acquisition-driven environments is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently while supporting executive-level initiatives and deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving organization.
• Strong attention to detail with a continuous improvement mindset.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this position is $105,000 – $110,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. In addition to base compensation, Compactor Rentals of America offers a competitive benefits package, including health benefits, paid time off, retirement plan options, and potential bonus opportunities.
