What are the responsibilities and job description for the Blending Supervisor position at COMPACT INDUSTRIES INC?
PURPOSE:
Supervise the day-to-day activities of the blending department and its personnel to ensure established processing, quality and safety standards are constantly met.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor activity across all Blending areas: Pre-Weigh, Pre-Stage, Loft and Dump room to ensure blending key performance indicators (KPIs) are being met.
- Be present and available to shift personnel, both in-person and via radio.
- Provide routine check-ins with employees, offering support, coaching and guidance as needed.
- Assign tasks for all blending associates and prepare materials for incoming shift.
- Direct and coordinate all blending activities to efficiently execute the blending schedule.
- Ensure all packaging lines are supplied with product, and formula addback is consumed before the end of each run.
- Understand and ensure all allergen procedures are being followed to avoid cross contact.
- Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety procedures.
- Monitor inventory transactions for accuracy and participate in physical inventory.
- Communicate effectively across different departments to report potential issues and concerns.
- Complete required staffing and end-of-shift reports.
- Promote a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Assist in investigation of non-conformance and recommend corrective actions.
- Train associates in SOPs and complete coach observations for training validation.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams and operators to resolve equipment problems.
- Monitor work schedules and attendance; manage the time-off request process and report unplanned absences in a timely manner to the HR department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to quickly adapt to changes and perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and ERP systems.
- 3 years Supervisory experience in manufacturing / food processing.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Walk or stand 80% of the shift.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
