Position Overview
Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is seeking an experienced and highly driven IT Project Manager 4 to support the Laboratory’s enterprise-wide ERP Modernization Program. This critical role will lead and coordinate complex IT initiatives supporting the implementation of modern enterprise business systems and technologies across finance, human resources, procurement, supply chain, data, and related IT services.
This position is primarily remote with occasional travel required for onsite planning sessions, stakeholder meetings, and program activities in Los Alamos, New Mexico.
The ideal candidate is an expert-level project manager with strong technical acumen in ERP modernization initiatives, especially within SAP ecosystems, cloud data platforms, integrations, and enterprise transformation programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery activities for ERP modernization IT workstreams
- Manage technical project activities involving:
- SAP S/4HANA
- Databricks
- SAP Business Data Cloud
- Enterprise integrations and APIs
- Data platforms and reporting systems
- Infrastructure and environment readiness
- Develop and maintain:
- Project plans
- Schedules and milestones
- Risk and issue logs
- Resource and dependency tracking
- Executive status reporting
- Coordinate across internal IT teams, business stakeholders, vendors, system integrators, PMO, and Organizational Change Management (OCM) teams
- Track vendor deliverables and manage third-party dependencies
- Facilitate project meetings and ensure follow-through on action items
- Manage scope, budget, schedule, communications, and stakeholder expectations
- Translate complex technical information into clear executive-level reporting
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, governance, regulatory, and Laboratory standards
- Recommend and implement improvements to project delivery processes and reporting practices
Required Qualifications
Project Management Expertise
- 12 years of experience managing complex IT projects across the full project lifecycle

ERP & Technical Experience
- Experience supporting large-scale ERP modernization or implementation initiatives
- Strong preference for SAP S/4HANA experience
- Experience with:
- Enterprise integrations
- APIs
- Cloud platforms
- Data modernization
- Reporting and analytics environments
- Databricks and SAP Business Data Cloud preferred
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of:

Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or related field
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered
