Job Summary
Community Systems, Inc. - MA is seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to join our growing team of home-share supports. A Respite Caregiver is scheduled on a short-term basis to assume the responsibilities of a full-time, live-in Caregiver during a scheduled period that they are to be unavailable. The Respite Caregiver would be trained and supported to provide assistance to a person with intellectual/developmental disabilities within the day-to-day areas of their lives. Depending on the person supported, the Respite Caregiver role may provide this companionship to the individual in their own home, or may host that person in their residence, should that setting be viable.
The ideal candidate will have experience in long-term care and possess a strong understanding of the unique needs of clients, including those with developmental disabilities and autism. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting their overall well-being.

We ensure Shared Living Caregivers have access to 24/7 support, as well as resources for personal and professional development through various training opportunities.
A Shared Living Caregiver's duties involve supporting an individual with daily tasks, fostering a sense of belonging, and promoting independence within a shared living environment. Caregivers provide assistance, as needed, with personal care, meal preparation, transportation, and medication management, while also offering companionship and emotional support. They maintain a welcoming home environment and help individuals build routines and participate in social activities. In lieu of the full-time Caregiver, the Respite Caregiver would be responsible for all duties listed.
Compensation:
The Respite Caregiver role is a 1099 opportunity and is compensated at a daily flat rate.
Responsibilities
- Record keeping as required for case management, ISP planning, healthcare, and clinical supports,
- Direct supervision as required for the safety of persons supported,
- Heath care coordination and at-appointment advocacy,
- Fostering important family, friend, and community relationships,
- Providing a safe and comfortable environment,
- Facilitating social/recreational involvement,
- Providing transportation, as needed.
