What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Biller - Orthopedic Specialty/Surgery position at Community Orthopedic Medical Group?
Orthopedic Surgery practice in Mission Viejo, CA is seeking a Billing and Collections Specialist to join a supportive, experienced team that values accuracy, collaboration, and professionalism.
We’re looking for a detail-oriented professional with at least 2 -3 years of medical billing and collections experience. Must be confident working with orthopedic codes, modifiers, authorizations, and claim reviews.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform account analysis and AR follow-up on open balances
- Support billing escalations and claims resolution
- Work collaboratively with our outside billing service provider
- Assist with insurance authorizations and code verification
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 Years of recent experience in orthopedic billing and collections
- Strong understanding of coding, modifiers, and insurance protocols (Medicare, PPO, HMO, WC)
- Familiarity with claims review and denial management
- Experience with NextGen and/or EPIC systems is a plus
