What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant - Orthopedics position at Community Orthopedic Medical Group?
A busy specialty practice in Orange County is in need of an experienced medical assistant with a preferred minimum of 1-2 years paid experience in a clinical setting. Candidate must be very professional and must be a strong team player.
Key Responsibilities:
- Room patients, take vital signs.
- Assist providers with exams and procedures.
- Communicate by phone/in person with department staff and outside sources.
- Dispense/fit DME as well as adequately educate patients on the care and use of all casts/splints/DME.
- Bandage/dressing changes, removal of sutures or staples and wound/post op care.
- Manage patient flow in a timely fashion in accordance to the schedule.
- Prioritize a variety of assignments, multi-task, follow moderate/complex instructions, work independently with little supervision.
- Phlebotomy or venipuncture certification is a plus.
Skills/ Requirements: Medical Assistant Certification preferred, Current CPR card, EHR knowledge.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
