Licensed Practical Nurse

Full-Time and Per Diem

Requirements:

Graduate of an approved school for licensed practical nursing with at least three years of experience in direct patient care nursing.

Currently licensed as a licensed practical nurse pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 112

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Provides skilled comprehensive nursing care to all ages, genders and cultural groups.
• To coordinate optimal care and use of resources for the patient/family by communication with the primary nurse, other staff members and other agencies.
• Maintain up to date and accurate records so that problems and changes are reflected as they occur.
• Seek input from other team members regarding the patient plan of care to obtain additional knowledge and support. Accept telephone orders from physicians.
• Assist in patient care by: teaching primary caregivers, or by providing direct care as appropriate.
• Meet regularly with nursing staff to review problems or unique issues, share professional support, and exchange feedback aimed toward enhancing professional growth.
• Attend meetings and facilitate discussion of issues from patient care for staff discussion, consultation and evaluation.
• Inform the primary nurse of unusual or potentially problematic patient/family issues.
• Function as associate nurse when responding to patients/families of the primary nurse.
• Assists in providing intermittent care to patients as the need arises.
• Participate in Community Nurse's orientation and in-service training programs for professional growth.
• Participate in community programs as requested to promote professional growth.
• Demonstrate familiarity with policies of the agency and rules and regulations of State and Federal bodies which aid in determining policies.
• Contributes to the process of Agency Performance Improvement.

Job Types: Full-time, Per diem

Pay: $28.00 - $31.00 per hour
