Per-Visit Physical Therapist Assistant
Requirements:
- Graduate from a two-year college level program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association or external program cleared by endorsement of the Massachusetts Board of Registration for Allied Health Professional.
- Currently licensed as a PTA in Massachusetts
- One year experience under the supervision of a registered physical therapist is preferred.
- Previous Home Care experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication Skills
- Driver’s license
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Perform selected physical therapy procedures and related tasks under the direction and supervision of a physical therapist in a patient’s home setting. Including:
- Providing therapeutic exercise, therapeutic massage, compression, heat and cold, simple wound care and dressing removal
- Providing measurement, adjustment, and instruction in DME use and care.
- Providing instruction, motivation and assistance to patients and others in improving functional activities such as: Pre-ambulation, transfer, ambulation, and daily living activities; and care of orthotics, prosthetics, and supportive devices.
- Participates in inter-disciplinary clinical teams to establish communication and provide high quality patient care across a patient’s entire care team.
