Job Summary
Community Living Care, Inc Residential Program provides 24-hour residential habilitation to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The program provides this service to 47 people across 21 different homes in Westmoreland County. We employ up to 80 full-time Direct Support Professionals to meet the staffing needs in the homes.
The Scheduler position is responsible to work a combination of hours in the administrative office and remotely to include on call hours. The primary responsibility of this position is to schedule staff for vacant shifts due to staff shortages, use of PTO time and call offs. Additionally, the scheduler reconciles staff timesheets and the schedule each week to ensure accuracy.
The Scheduler position hours are as follows:
ON-CALL from 8am Friday to 4pm Monday. Physically in the administrative office on Monday 8am-4p; Friday 8am – 4pm and 4 hours every Saturday and Sunday (the weekend 4 hour time slots in the office can vary as needed; typically 10am – 2pm) . Workload during the on-call hours of 8am Friday through 4pm Monday varies greatly each week and is dependent on staff shortages, staff call-offs and unexpected staffing needs for emergencies with the individuals we support. Applicants should anticipate problem solving every weekend during on-call hours.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive weekly schedules for direct care staff working in IDD residential settings, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts, on weekends.
- Collaborate closely with program specialists, house supervisors, and team members to align staffing needs with resident requirements such as medical appointments and day program attendance.
- Adjust schedules proactively to accommodate staff availability, emergencies, or unforeseen circumstances while minimizing disruptions to resident care.
- Communicate clearly with staff regarding schedule changes, shift assignments, and special instructions related to resident requirements such as medical appointments and day program attendance.
- Maintain accurate records of scheduling activities, time sheets, shift swaps, absences, and other relevant documentation for operational transparency.
Experience
- Experience working in the Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities service system.
- Experience scheduling staff in a 24-hour care environment.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to work in high stress environment.
- A work history demonstrating a high level of commitment and reliability.
- Ability to work in partnership toward shared goals with the administrative team responsible for scheduling activities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle complex scheduling logistics efficiently.
Pay: Up to $52,000.00 per year
