Your Role and Responsibilities

As our Physical Education Teacher, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to:

• Teach Physical Education: Deliver engaging physical education classes for students in grades 6–12
• Utilize High-Quality Curriculum: Implement the Focused Fitness curriculum and use standards-based lesson planning to guide instruction
• Promote Participation and Growth: Offer equal opportunities for all students to grow through a variety of physical activities, including team sports, personal fitness, and individual movement
• Ensure Safety and Positive Environment: Teach safe and effective techniques, fostering a respectful and positive classroom environment
• Develop Social Skills: Integrate teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship alongside physical education goals
• Set Goals for Success: Develop short- and long-term goals for students based on their needs and program evaluations
• Track Student Progress: Maintain lesson plans, gradebooks, and regular assessments to monitor student growth and achievement
• Manage Resources: Organize and maintain sports equipment, ensuring safety and accessibility
• Integrate Technology: Use basic technology tools to enhance instruction and monitor student progress

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or equivalent (36 credit hours or passing score on Praxis 5091 exam)
• First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Basic understanding of technology tools to support instruction
• 2–5 years of physical education teaching experience preferred
