What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst position at Community First Credit Union?
Position Summary: The Financial Analyst will assist with CFCU financial imperatives including product & branch profitability; potential new products and services profitability analysis; budget variance analysis, and budget planning; asset liability management (ALM) modeling and reporting, cash flow forecasting and ad-hoc analysis supporting financial reporting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis (70%):
- Participates in the creation of CFCU’s interest rate sensitivity analysis to forecast the impact of market interest rates on capital and earnings.
- Utilizes financial models and “what if” scenarios to help analyze the impact of various business strategies.
- Performs research and analysis to compare internal metrics to those of peer financial institutions.
- Maintains the lending analytics model and prepares associated statistical and trending reports.
Reporting (25%)
- Assists in the preparation of studies, reports, and analyses in areas such as budgeting, forecasting, financial plans, cash flow projections, regulatory reports, and statistical reports to support executive and board-level decisions.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of member, branch, and product cost tracking and profitability analysis.
- Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly recurring analytical schedules, graphs, trends, and variance analysis.
Organizational Relations (5%)
- Attend and participates in meetings as required.
- Stays informed of trends and current topics in the finance field.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the VP of Finance or CFO.
Required Knowledge, Abilities, and Education:
- Strong analytical and data organization/interpretation skills with experience working with large volumes of data.
- Familiarity with the budgeting and forecasting process and knowledge of deposit and lending products.
- Skilled at Accounting/ALM software and Excel.
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Must work well both independently and in teams.
Beneficial Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or another relevant field.
- A minimum of 3 years of financial analysis experience.
- Experience in financial institution processes or procedures or similar experience is preferred.
Physical Factors:
- Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.
- Corrected vision within the normal range.
- Hearing within normal range.
- Ability to lift 15 lbs. as may be required.
- Occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff, accomplish tasks, etc.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $29.60 - $44.40 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
