Purpose:  

The Peer Supervisor provides oversight to the Peer Engagement Specialists. Ensures good program outcomes by providing training, supervision and field mentoring of staff, monitoring outcomes, and implementing quality improvement plans. Act as a liaison to other departments and agencies.  

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  1. Master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling or related field is preferred.
  2. Bachelor’s degree required.
  3. Supportive Employment or Vocational Counseling experience required.
  4. Knowledge of Recovery principles, Co-occurring Disorders Treatment concepts, and/or Evidence Based Treatment Models also preferred. 
  5. Personal vehicle, valid Illinois driver’s license, and insurable driving record required.
  6. Previous supervisory experience is valued.

  13. Proficient in Windows environment

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

  1. Hires, trains, and evaluates peer specialists.
  2. Develops expectations for specialists regarding community time, employer contacts, and employment rate (percentage of people employed on each caseload),
  3. Provides individual supervision for peer specialists.  Supervision includes some office-based sessions, as well as field mentoring.
  4. Provides field mentoring for each person on the team.  Provides frequent (weekly or monthly) field monitoring for new specialists or specialists with outcomes that are less than desired.
  1. Collects client and process outcomes on a monthly basis. Shares outcomes for the program, as well as for individual practitioners, with the IPS supported employment team quarterly. Helps team set goals for improvement. Reviews individual outcomes with each practitioner, develops written plans for improvement that include assistance from the supervisor, and helps practitioners set goals.
  2. Acts as a liaison to other department coordinators and administrators at the agency.  Communicates regularly with Assistant Director to ensure that services are integrated, to problem-solve program issues and to act as an advocate for employment.  Informs administrators of program successes and challenges.
  3. Provides assertive engagement and community outreach-based services to a caseload of clients, directed toward the goal of competitive employment in integrated job settings.
  4. Interviews and evaluates clients, demonstrates knowledge of growth and development, establishes diagnosis using DSM IV criteria, understands range of treatment, and monitors client behavior.  Develops treatment plans collaboratively with client by defining goals, specific outcomes, and time frames for treatment.
  5. Uses appropriate behavior management techniques as needed.
  6. Maintain compliance at all times with clinical charts documentation, timelines and agency policies and procedures including meeting required timeframes for documentation and service notes.
  7. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Salary : $50,000 - $55,000
