What are the responsibilities and job description for the Job Coach position at Community Care Partners?
The Employment Specialist works within a community-based employment setting to assist in supervising and training our individuals on how to acquire the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social skills needed for successful employment.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience: An Associate’s degree or higher in a related field from an accredited college or university or have a high school diploma or equivalent with three (3) years of related experience. MUST COMPLETE SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT/JOB COACH TRAINING ON THE BOGGS CENTER AT RUTGERS, 1, 2, 3, & 4. Be familiar with the demands and expectations of business and industry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail. Excellent time management ability to meet deadlines. Excellent problem-solving skills. Technical proficiency, including Microsoft Office Ability to analyze data, to create and review processes. and generate applicable reports. Familiar with social media platforms and other professional networks. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Must be willing to travel between multiple offices and within the communities we serve. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
- Educate individuals on various skills necessary for personal and professional success.
- Develop and implement training programs tailored to the needs of participants.
- Provide addiction counseling and support to individuals as needed.
- Mentor participants, offering guidance and encouragement throughout their development journey.
- Collaborate with social workers and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for individuals.
- Stay informed about employment labor laws to assist participants in navigating job opportunities.
- Recruit new participants into the program, ensuring a diverse and inclusive environment.
- Work closely with individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism, to create personalized development plans.
- Monitor progress and adjust coaching strategies as necessary to meet individual needs.
- Must have 4 days Certification
Qualifications
- Proven experience in workforce development or related fields is preferred.
- Background in addiction counseling or social work is highly desirable.
- Strong mentoring skills with a passion for helping others succeed.
- Experience in training development and recruiting is an asset.
- Familiarity with the challenges faced by individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is essential.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with diverse populations.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt coaching methods as needed.
- Must have completed Supported Employment/Job Counseling Training at the Boggs Center at Rutgers.
- Must have 4 Days Certification
- Day 1 - Assessment/Discovery Phase
- Day 2 - Job Development Phase
- Day 3 - Job Coaching Phase
- Day 4 - Long Term Follow Along Phase
