Community Bridges South operates 14 group homes across Ruston, Shreveport, and Winnfield, providing 24/7 care and support to adults with disabilities. Our mission is to help each resident achieve the highest level of independence possible through teaching Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and providing compassionate, person-centered care.

Position Responsibilities
As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in helping residents live as independently as possible. Responsibilities include:
- Teaching and assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including hygiene, dressing, and meals
- Providing support based on each resident’s individual level of need (ranging from full assistance to minimal guidance)
- Supporting positive behaviors and social interactions through modeling and guidance
- Following individualized care plans and teaching programs
- Ensuring residents’ safety and well-being at all times
- Maintaining a clean, structured, and supportive home environment
Work Environment & Expectations
These are our clients’ homes, and we strive to create a family-like environment for everyone. Staff and residents should work together in maintaining the home and completing daily responsibilities, while also encouraging active engagement in the community based on each resident’s interests and preferences.
- Staff are expected to teach and interact continuously, both through structured programs and everyday activities
- The role can be physically and emotionally demanding, requiring patience, resilience, and compassion
