Position Overview
PCSS is hiring a dependable Direct Support Worker (DSW) to provide one‑on‑one community engagement and daily living support for an adult with developmental/ intellectual disabilities.
This role focuses on community outings, basic routines, transportation, and helping the individual stay safe and independent.
What a DSW Does
- Plans and participates in community outings (library, parks, stores, events, etc.)
- Assists with grocery shopping and simple daily living tasks
- Provides safe transportation using your personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
- Encourages independence, communication, and social skills
- Helps with routines like organizing items, planning outings, and practicing life skills
- Completes a daily progress sheet and turns it in weekly to the PCSS office
- Maintains professional boundaries and follows all safety protocols
Schedule
- Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 8 am - 1 pm
- Saturday 10 am - 3 pm
- 20 hours per week total
Requirements
- Reliable personal vehicle
- Valid driver’s license
- Current auto insurance
- Clean background check
- High school diploma or GED
- Dependable and able to follow structured routines
- Comfortable documenting daily activities
Compensation & Benefits
- $11/hour
- Mileage reimbursement at $0.54 per mile
- Mileage log provided

Pay: $11.00 - $13.80 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 per week
