Job Overview: To plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in an elementary school classroom that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.
Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities.
Create a positive educational climate for students..
Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
Create standard based lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year. Upload lesson plans to Atlas.
Maintain grade books in Power School that are updated regularly.
Manage student behavior in the classroom by implementing approved disciplinary procedures.
Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
Assist with coverage of other classes as needed.
Assist with arrivals and dismissal of students.
Communicate with parents/guardians.
Collaborate with other colleagues.
Selects books, instructional aids and supplies that aid in the teaching of the curriculum.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal or his/her designee.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification - completed or in progress.
Communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Federal, state, and child abuse background checks required.
Salary : $50,000 - $86,653
