Overview:
The Special Education Supervisor provides leadership, supervision, and oversight of special education programming to ensure the delivery of high-quality services in full compliance with applicable laws, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. This role is responsible for supervising and evaluating staff, ensuring the development and implementation of compliant Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and monitoring evaluations, service delivery, and student progress in accordance with mandated timelines and least restrictive environment (LRE) requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Certification
- Supervisory Certification (preferred)
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the special education field
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state special education regulations and timelines
- Supervise, coach, and formally evaluate special education teachers, instructional assistants, and service providers
- Support implementation of instructional goals and provide classroom-based feedback in collaboration with building leadership
- Participate in eligibility, IEP, Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP), and Manifestation Determination meetings
- Monitor IEP implementation, student progress, and service delivery to ensure appropriate supports
- Collaborate with administrators and support teams to ensure appropriate placement and services for students
- Oversee coordination of services for students with 504 plans
- Lead and coordinate professional development related to IEP implementation and best practices
Salary : $70,000 - $100,000
