Facility Reimbursement Officer

Join the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), Revenue Office as a Facility Reimbursement Officer and support important financial operations at the Southeastern Veterans' Center. This role allows you to use your organizational and analytical skills to help ensure accurate billing and reimbursement. You will assist veterans and their families by supporting the management of their financial needs with care and professionalism. This position oversees reimbursement processes by reviewing resident resources for reimbursement, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with billing and benefits. As a Facility Reimbursement Officer, you will perform the following duties:

• Fee Assessment: Complete and verify admission, interim, and annual assessments to ensure accurate maintenance fee calculations
• Financial Review: Investigate unusual expenses and maintain detailed reconciliation records for all fee changes
• Payment Oversight: Coordinate collection of maintenance fees and manage required documentation for audits and revenue reporting
• Census Management: Maintain daily census information used for federal reimbursement and prepare required VA billing forms
• Benefit Assistance: Assist residents with benefit applications, required documents, and eligibility reviews for programs that help lower home and health care costs
• Account Monitoring: Track delinquent accounts, prepare claim referrals, and communicate with legal representatives when required

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of experience as a Facility Reimbursement Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Five years of experience involving public contact work in billing and collecting financial accounts or debts; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Completion of college-level work with major course work in business administration, finance, accounting, health care management, or a related field may be substituted for required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Special Requirements:

• All positions in the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs require valid accreditation by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as a veterans service officer or eligibility for accreditation within one year from the date of employment.
• You must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania non-commercial class C driver’s license or equivalent.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements: 

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
