This position delivers classroom and hands-on instruction in the electronics trade while helping maintain essential electronic systems throughout the facility. You will be instructing inmates in a variety of electronics, which include general maintenance, preventative maintenance, and installation of new electronic fixtures and equipment. You will also be responsible for maintaining a working knowledge and ability concerning electronic components of cell doors and sliders. As a Corrections Electronics Trade Instructor, you will perform the following duties:
- Electronics Instruction: Teach inmates trade skills through classroom lessons and supervised practical work
- Work Crew Oversight: Assign, supervise, and inspect inmate work tasks to ensure accurate completion
- Tool and Material Control: Issue, track, and inventory tools and supplies used during training and maintenance tasks
- System Maintenance: Repair and maintain communication, security, cabling, surveillance, and other facility electronic systems

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,868.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the testing and repair of electronic equipment; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
