Corrections Electrical Trade Instructor - SCI Coal Township

In this Corrections Electrical Trade Instructor position with SCI Coal Township, you will teach inmates how to work safely and effectively in the repair and construction of low- and high-voltage electrical systems. We will rely on you to offer clear communication, practical demonstrations, and ongoing guidance while maintaining order and discipline of inmates during work assignments and classroom instruction. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week. 
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,868 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Five years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment used in buildings; or 
• Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the electrical trade; or 
• An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the electrical trade.

Other Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
