The Pennsylvania State Police is looking for an enthusiastic Clerical Assistant 2 who enjoys meaningful work. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role supports the Pennsylvania State Police by handling key steps in firearm license and permit documentation. You will work with important records that must stay accurate and confidential. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Permit Processing: Review and update License to Carry and Sportsmans Firearm Permit records for accuracy
- Data Entry: Enter and verify State Police documents in the automated system with careful attention to detail
- Information Review: Organize, encode, and extract needed details before completing data entry tasks
- Confidentiality Compliance: Follow all laws and policies related to maintaining secure and confidential records
- Agency Communication: Contact Sheriff and County Treasurer offices to request missing information and explain required procedures

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:15 AM - 4:15 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30 minute lunch.

- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- All employees must obtain active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Police within the probationary period and maintain the same for the duration of employment in this job.
Additional Requirements:
- You must have two (2) years of data entry experience.
- You must have two (2) years of customer service experience.
- You must be willing to work onsite full-time. Teleworking is not an option as part of this position's work schedule.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
