The Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC), Division of Adult Institutions operates 13 correctional facilities that house Kentucky's adult inmate population. The mission of DOC is to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non-criminal behavior. The Plumber Licensed at Green river Correctional Complex performs journeyman plumber duties in the construction, installation, alteration, maintenance, repair, remodeling, and removing of plumbing for the institution.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be licensed as a journeyman plumber by the Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction. https://dhbc.ky.gov/ https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/chapter.aspx?id=38833 Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To The Following
- Oversees and maintains plumbing systems for the institution to include the installation and removal of plumbing lines.
- Repairs existing plumbing system.
- Provides recommendations to management.
- Alters and replaces plumbing, boilers, and heating equipment.
- Interprets plumbing specifications and blueprints of institutional plumbing layout.
- Reviews incoming work orders.
- Maintains supplies and ensures tools and equipment are in working order.
- Maintains records and provides reports to management.
- Ensures proper permits are obtained for projects.
