Senior Project Manager - Commercial Construction

Role Description The Senior Project Manager – Commercial Construction is a full-time, on-site role based in Rockland, MA. This role oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating project schedules, managing subcontractors and vendors, reviewing drawings and specifications, and collaborating with internal teams and external partners to resolve issues and keep projects on track. The Senior Project Manager will lead regular progress meetings, monitor site activities, support inspections, and prepare status reports and documentation for stakeholders. This role also contributes to cost control, change management, risk mitigation, and client communication, while mentoring project staff and promoting best practices across project teams.
Qualifications

• Strong project management skills in commercial construction, including Project Management and Expediting, with experience leading complex, multi-phase builds.
• Background in coordinating materials and services, with Expeditor and Logistics Management skills to manage schedules, deliveries, and vendor relations.
• Experience with onsite quality and safety oversight, including Inspection skills and familiarity with building codes, permitting, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in construction documentation, scheduling, and budgeting tools (e.g., MS Project or similar), and the ability to analyze and interpret plans and specifications.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, including mentoring project staff, managing cross-functional teams, and making informed decisions under time constraints.
• Prior experience in commercial sectors such as retail, restaurant, corporate, or related markets; New England regional experience is beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of construction safety practices and standards; OSHA training or similar credentials are an advantage.
