Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Patient Safety Risk Management Coordinator, you will assist with the event reporting process, event investigation and review, root cause analysis, and the coordination of Risk Management and Patient Safety activities for the organization. Your role is vital in ensuring a safe and high-quality patient care environment.
Every day, you will maintain data management systems for Risk/Patient Safety programs and actively participate in system office initiatives to mitigate identified facility risks. This work aims to reduce costs, decrease adverse patient outcomes, and enhance patient care safety. You will coordinate claim team requests, collaborating with other key stakeholders to implement learnings derived from claims.
To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong understanding of risk management principles, patient safety methodologies, and data management systems. Your ability to meticulously investigate events, conduct root cause analyses, collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and manage sensitive legal information while upholding organizational values will be essential in protecting our patients and our organization.
- Assembles, organizes and keeps litigation files up to date.
- Transmits claim information to Area Claims Manager upon direction of Director of Risk Management/Patient Safety.
- Assists with formal discovery by pulling interrogatories, orders to produce, etc. as determined by the Director of Risk Management/Patient Safety.
- Assists with scheduling of dispositions and pre-depo meetings upon direction.
- Facilitates legal process on behalf of the organization by accepting subpoenas, summons and complaints upon direction.
- Works directly with Managers and Directors to guide and facilitate complete and accurate case evaluation and gap resolution when patient safety issues are identified.
Job Requirements
Required
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in an acute care setting with experience in, or working knowledge of quality management, case management, patient relations /safety, risk management orrelated areas and
- Expert Microsoft Office skills;Outlook, Word and Excel.
