General Manager - New Restaurant Opening - The Current & Stillroom Location: South Boston, MA

Footprint: ~6,500 sq ft patio (brand-new buildout)

Type: Full-time

Compensation: Six-figure salary strong incentives vested ownership opportunity

Common Craft's mission is to shine a spotlight on the craftspeople, processes, and products behind the restaurant industry.

In Burlington, the concept has been beverage led, with each room built around a distinct feature. We have highlighted producers like Idle Hands, Zero Gravity, and Deacon Giles, partnered with curators like Lucille's Wine Shop in Lynn, and built features around products like agave. Those are intentionally longer term, since reworking an entire room takes real time and resources.

In South Boston, we wanted to widen the lens significantly, with a format that can celebrate everything from knifemakers and fishermen to seasonal products like vermouth, truffles, and soft shell crab. There are remarkable stories behind every corner of this industry, and the Southie neighborhood and community felt like a natural fit for Common Craft to lean into that more fully.

At the center of the concept is The Current, a rotating program that highlights a single theme at a time, whether that is a product, tool, place, process, or person. Each Current typically runs four to six weeks and can include custom menus, decor change over, events, educational elements, and original content that brings the theme to life.

In addition, there will be a second experience within the space built around cocktail craft called The Stillroom. It will be a completely different environment than the main dining room. Rather than leaning into a traditional speakeasy vibe, we are designing it to be brighter and greener, putting botanicals, garnishes, and the ingredients we love front and center.

Finally, we will carry over a few guest favorites from Burlington, including our custom craft dog menus, and we will use the outdoor green space for seasonal programming as the year unfolds.

The main dining room will seat 139 and includes two large bars. This is where The Current will come to life most fully. The Stillroom will seat an additional 33. Weather permitting, we will also have extensive patio seating. To start, we will be open for dinner service Tuesday through Sunday, with weekend brunch. Opening is slated for late February.
