Lead Housekeeper - Holiday Inn Express and Comfort Inn

Job Summary
The Lead Housekeeper is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department of assigned hotel to ensure all guest rooms and public areas consistently meet brand and company cleanliness standards. This position provides leadership and support to the housekeeping team by training new employees, assigning daily workloads, inspecting completed rooms, and assisting with laundry operations. The Lead Housekeeper works closely with the Assistant General Manager and General Manager to maintain exceptional guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily operations of the housekeeping department.
- Prepare and assign daily work schedules for housekeeping staff.
- Train, coach, and mentor new housekeeping employees on proper cleaning procedures, safety practices, and brand standards.
- Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure compliance with Comfort Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and company quality standards.
- Ensure all rooms are guest-ready and maintained to the highest level of cleanliness.
- Oversee and assist with laundry operations, including washing, drying, folding, organizing, and maintaining an adequate inventory of linens and towels.
- Monitor housekeeping supplies and notify management when inventory needs replenishing.
- Address guest requests and housekeeping concerns promptly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and health standards.
- Assist with cleaning guest rooms and common areas as needed to support daily operations.
- Communicate maintenance issues and room status updates to the appropriate departments.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment while promoting excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel is required.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to train and motivate team members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to stand, bend, lift up to 30 pounds, and perform physical duties throughout the workday.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Performance Expectations
- Maintain guest rooms and public areas that consistently meet or exceed brand inspection standards.
- Ensure efficient daily staffing and completion of housekeeping assignments.
- Promote a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and staff.
- Support hotel management in achieving guest satisfaction and operational goals through effective leadership of the housekeeping department.
Pay: $14.50 - $15.00 per hour
