We are seeking a dedicated and organized Housekeeping Manager to oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and experience in managing a team, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. As a Housekeeping Manager, you will be responsible for managing staff, coordinating cleaning schedules, maintaining inventory, and ensuring the highest level of cleanliness throughout the hotel.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, train, and supervise the housekeeping team, ensuring proper performance and adherence to hotel standards.
- Create and manage housekeeping schedules, ensuring that rooms and public areas are cleaned and maintained according to the hotel’s standards.
- Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities. Order supplies as needed and ensure cost-effective usage.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper handling of cleaning products and equipment.
- Handle guest complaints and concerns related to housekeeping services, addressing issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage the housekeeping department’s budget, including labor costs, supplies, and other operational expenses.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and training of housekeeping staff, fostering a positive work environment.
- Develop and implement procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of housekeeping operations.
- Maintain records related to maintenance requests and repairs for damaged furniture, equipment, and fixtures in guest rooms and public areas.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments (front desk, maintenance, laundry) to ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare and submit reports to upper management regarding department performance, staff issues, and resource needs.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in housekeeping, including supervisory or managerial roles, is required. At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage a team efficiently.
- High standards for cleanliness and a keen eye for detail to ensure consistent guest satisfaction.
- Ability to walk, stand, and move throughout the hotel for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when necessary.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, guests, and management.
- Experience with budgeting, inventory control, and cost management within a housekeeping department.
- A strong focus on providing exceptional guest service and ensuring guest satisfaction through housekeeping operations.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, as needed.
- Familiarity with cleaning products, equipment, and safety protocols in the hospitality industry.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a college degree in hospitality management or a related field is a plus.
- At least 2-3 years of managerial or supervisory experience in housekeeping or hospitality services.
- Any relevant certifications in hospitality management, housekeeping operations, or safety regulations are a plus.
