Summary:
The F&B Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of their assigned Food & Beverage outlet that prepares and serves food and drinks to guests. The F&B Supervisor oversees all the issues pertaining to a guest's dining experience such as quality and portion control, team member management, inventory, health and safety regulations and guest service.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for personnel functions, such as: interviewing, hiring, orientation, training, development, supervision, delegations, evaluations and disciplinary actions; will perform these functions in a timely manner.
- Compiles and enters information into the computer systems and HRIS database.
- Prepares team member schedules, including the scheduling of any necessary team member training.
- Manages all stock and product issues, including: ordering supplies, inventory control and equipment maintenance.
- Ensures food quality and quantity for their assigned outlet.
- Prepares daily, weekly, monthly and annual paperwork and any reports according to department and company needs.
- Investigates and resolves guest complaints related to assigned outlet.
- Promote and demonstrate teamwork and enjoy working with and assisting people.
- Responsible for alcohol slowdowns and cutoffs when needed.
- Assists with staffing, catering, and scheduling for special events.
- Provides managerial coverage to food areas in the absence of the F&B Manager.
- Complies with all applicable laws, policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Provides a high standard of professionalism and guest service.
- Must maintain confidentiality.
- Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Minimum Qualifications):
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Three (3) years of food industry experience required.
- Must be computer literate with proficiency in windowsbased programs and knowledge to operate general office equipment, software and databases.
- Ability to accurately calculate basic math equations such as addition and subtraction.
- Knowledge and ability to operate point of sales system.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment and handle multiple priorities.
- Ability to interact with many different types of guests and team members to encourage a fun atmosphere.
- Ability to understand, speak, communicate and read the English language.
- Must successfully pass TIPS training upon hire and annually thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain ServSafe Certification and a valid Washington State Food Handler’s Card.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a current Class MAST 12 permit.
- Must successfully complete Title 31, Banking Secrecy Act training, if applicable, upon hire and annually.
- Ability to analyze data from multiple information ports by comparing and contrasting data to draw a conclusion or to identify trends.
- Ability to communicate professionally in written, verbal, and nonverbal format while portraying a friendly tone, word choice, and body language.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work various shifts including evenings, holidays, weekends, and overtime.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid nongaming permit or Tribal Gaming Badge (whichever is applicable).
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Manual and finger dexterity as required to perform daily job duties.
- Ability to frequently walk, sit, and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to frequently bend, squat and/or reach.
- Sufficient visual acuity to write, recognize printed materials, computer screen, and notice nonverbal behavior.
- Speech and hearing ability to project voice to small and large audiences, carry on radio/telephone conversations, hear and grasp verbal communications and equipment prompts.
- Occasionally works near or around electricity.
- Frequently works near or around mechanical moving parts.
- Frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Frequently exposed to a high level of noise in the work environment.
- Frequently exposed to tobacco smoke.
- Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
