Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated CNA Primary Instructor to lead and inspire future healthcare professionals in the vital field of nursing assistance. In this role, you will develop, deliver, and evaluate comprehensive training programs that prepare students for certification as Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). Your expertise will ensure that students acquire essential patient care skills, clinical competencies, and a solid understanding of healthcare regulations. Preferably someone who has attended a Train the Trainer course. Must have an RN and 2 Years of long term care experience.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop engaging curriculum content aligned with accreditation standards, including online instruction and classroom-based learning modules.
- Deliver hands-on clinical instruction utilizing teaching simulation methods to enhance practical skills such as patient care, vital signs monitoring, documentation review, and care planning.
- Supervise students during clinical rotations in hospitals, nursing homes, or community settings to ensure safe and effective patient care practices.
- Assess student performance through examinations, practical demonstrations, and ongoing evaluations; provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Maintain compliance with educational regulations and healthcare standards by ensuring curriculum updates reflect current best practices in acute care, ICU, pediatrics, senior care, and primary care settings.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum design and development to incorporate innovative learning technologies such as Learning Management Systems (LMS) like Blackboard or similar platforms.
- Review documentation related to student progress, clinical hours, and competency assessments to ensure accuracy and regulatory adherence.
- Stay informed about advancements in healthcare education, including research developments and evolving medical terminology relevant to nursing assistant training.
Skills
- Proven experience supervising students within clinical or classroom environments in healthcare education settings.
- Strong background in nursing or healthcare fields such as nursing administration, nurse management, or hospital experience; critical care or ICU experience is highly valued.
- Familiarity with LMS platforms like Blackboard or similar learning technology tools for online instruction and curriculum management.
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, patient care procedures, care plans, and documentation standards across diverse healthcare settings including pediatrics and adult care.
- Experience working with post-secondary students from diverse cultural backgrounds; adept at fostering inclusive learning environments.
- Ability to design curriculum and develop instructional materials tailored for adult learners in higher education contexts.
- Understanding of educational compliance regulations relevant to healthcare training programs.
- Excellent communication skills for effective teaching, clinical supervision, and collaboration with hospital staff or medical professionals.
- Prior classroom experience combined with familiarity in teaching simulation methods to enhance practical skill acquisition.
- Knowledge of research methodologies related to healthcare education to inform curriculum improvements.
