Summary:

The Warehouse Clerk is responsible for assisting with shipments coming in and out of the warehouse and supporting delivery operations as needed. This position moves incoming materials to proper locations within the facility, retrieves necessary items for outgoing shipments, and assists with delivery of parts and materials to suppliers and customers.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Basic understanding of parts identification
  • Prepare parts and materials for transport and shipment
  • Ability to crate orders for shipment
  • Assist with delivery of materials to suppliers and/or customers
  • Pick up materials from suppliers and deliver to locations throughout the facility
  • Perform in-house mail runs (pickup and delivery)
  • Stage parts appropriately for all destinations
  • Move incoming materials to proper warehouse locations
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by following standard control practices
  • Assist with cycle counting
  • Operate powered industrial trucks (PIT) including pallet jacks and forklifts
  • Maintain safe handling and transport of materials within the facility and during deliveries
  • Conduct basic vehicle checks and report maintenance concerns
  • Follow all DOT requirements and company driving policies
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Perform routine housekeeping activities
  • Assist other departments when needed

Knowledge-

  1. LEAN Principles
  2. Basic warehouse and delivery operations

 

Skills-

  1. Basic parts identification
  2. Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16 inch
  3. Basic computer skills for part picking
  4. Ability to stage parts appropriately
  5. High attention to detail for inventory accuracy
  6. Ability to operate carts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts
  7. Ability to prepare and secure materials for transport
  8. Valid Class C driver’s license with safe driving record
  9. Ability to follow delivery schedules and routing instructions
  10. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

 

Abilities-

  1. Ability to foster and work within a team environment
  2. Actively participates in safety programs and comply with all safety policies
  3. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively
  4. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  5. Maintains a clean and safe work area
  6. Demonstrates the qualities of a “Team Player” by accepting new responsibilities and filling in for other employees when needed
  7. Displays attention to detail and consistently follow Standard Work Instructions when completing tasks
  8. Communicates effectively with peers, supervisor, customers, vendors, and other departments
  9. Actively participate in 6S and other Continuous Improvement (CI) efforts
  10. Self-motivated and has the ability to work with supervision

 

Education and/or Experience:   

  1. High School Diploma or GED required
  2. Up to 12 months of warehouse, delivery, or material handling experience preferred
  3. Valid Class C driver’s license with clean driving record
  4. Ability to meet DOT medical card requirements
