Position: Referral Coordinator

Department: Operations and Business Center

Shift: Individual schedules can be determined with supervisor and within business needs/hours. In general, our agency provides services Mon-Fri from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Salary Range: $22.19 to $29.58 (hourly). There are 15 steps on our salary scale. We use a bona fide factor system to determine starting wage (years of experience, education, credentials, and specialty skills that relate to the job requirements).

Position Requirements: High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree preferred. Minimum of three years of experience in medical office operations, referral coordination, or billing and collections required, with preference for behavioral health settings. Experience verifying OHP and other insurance coverage and working within managed care environments is strongly preferred. A combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the position duties may be considered.

Summary: The Referral Coordinator manages incoming external and internal referrals for outpatient behavioral health, residential addiction and residential mental health services. This role serves as a primary point of coordination between referral sources, clients, and clinical teams, ensuring timely access to care. Responsibilities include referral intake, outreach, scheduling, follow-up, and documentation within the EHR to support continuity of care and compliance with regulatory and program standards.
