Job Summary
The Cycle Counter performs inventory control duties to ensure optimal inventory levels. Additionally, they will perform daily cycle-count activities including root cause analysis and suggest corrective actions as needed. Reconciles discrepancies in inventories and notifies Supervisor or Group Lead of irregularities. The Cycle Counter will also prepare and submit cycle count reports as needed and respond to inquiries regarding products and inventories.
Essential Job Functions
· Cycle counts raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods, and non-conforming materials daily.
· Utilize EPICOR software to process cycle counts, review on-hand inventory, current activity, and past activity.
· Ensure materials are in proper locations.
· Conducts searches to locate misclassified inventory.
· Open cartons, bundles, and other containers to count items and/or weigh materials to determine quantity on hand.
· Weigh and mark / label product displaying remaining product left.
· Report discrepancies of over/under amounts and any damaged products to supervision.
· Communicate and develop process enhancements as needed (performs root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies and recommends process improvements to eliminate them).
· Other duties as assigned to support the business needs.
Physical Requirements
· Workers are required to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds.
· Walk long distances repeatedly throughout the day.
· Sit and drive a forklift to perform their job.
· Climb small ladders/step stools.
· Frequent bending or stooping.
Knowledge
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· 1-year work-related experience preferred.
Experience
· Inventory control, stock clerk, order picker, cycle counting experience.
· Comfortable using computer and knowledge of how to use Excel and word.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced team-based environment.
Skills
· Strong interpersonal communication/problem solving skills.
· Ability to operate stand-up stacker and forklifts (or can obtain the licensing).
· Ability to use mathematical functions to calculate weights.
· Ability to handle multiple requests and provide a rapid response.
· Ability to weigh parts using a scale.
· Strong computer abilities.
