Business Support Specialist (Nixon Power Station)
****Nixon Power Plant is located at 6598 Ray Nixon Road, Hwy I-25 exit 125.
The Operations Division is looking for an energetic individual to provide Business support within our Plant Work Outage Management group at Nixon Power Station. This Business support involves the research and administration of multi-division plant outage assistance and contract management, milestone/deadline oversight of contract execution, and advanced administrative business and contract support to multiple sponsors; duties and tasks reflect substantial variety and complexity, and the incumbent may be assigned to specific analytical projects or programs requiring general evaluation and assessment, and/or may carry out functional responsibilities unique to assigned department.
Additionally, in this job you will be responsible for providing business support in data gathering, research, monitoring and tracking records/results, data interpretation, summarizing findings, recommending changes and improvements based on analysis and interpretation of external and/or internal information, and/or developing processes to increase efficiency of operations or reduce cost.
Key Areas of Focus:
- Aid the outage management team with contract and business sponsors in navigating procurement activities such as new contract requests for proposals, amending existing contracts, and managing contract expirations
- Conduct and provide contract and business administration support with the skill to meet execution milestones and meet deadlines.
- Focus, and priorities will be more in the realm of business needs, such as viewing outage project needs, contracts in an accounts payable/receivable capacity, and any contract review, writing & negotiating skills would be valuable
- Troubleshoot problems by gathering and researching data; assists with data analysis as requested
- Prepare and present oral and written research findings, input, solutions, and recommendations for impact and cost analysis of proposed changes and improvements
- Assist plant outage business sponsors in determining project budgets, contract funding amounts, monitoring contract funding levels, requesting additional funding, and releasing retainage
- Monitor complex contracts and business needs for the Operations Division
- Input, retrieve, or display data, or analysis of information using various software or programs
- Obtain approval for the business need to start a new contract if needed for the group
- Statement of support
- Review invoices for services and approve payments as needed
- Communicate with the Outage Management Superintendent and Supervisor on the status of projects as it relates to invoices, budget, and total cost.
- Review & Approves Contractor's Pay Application Forms before invoice payment.
- Communicate with PCS on contract issues.
- Plant Division point of contact for the RFP planning process.
- Interface with Procurement on project milestones and completion
- Load New Bid Unit information into Maximo Library
Who You Are: Contract, outage project administration support experienced is valued for this role. Additionally, you will possess an Associate’s Degree in Business, Finance, Technical Management, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience, and those with procurement, accounting, and accounts payable operations experience are highly desired. MS Excel and MS Word skills are required. Experience with Maximo, Infor/Lawson, and Power BI is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
