Role Description The Agency Sales Representative is a full-time, on-site role based in Montgomery, TX. In this position, the representative builds and maintains relationships with employers and benefits decision-makers, introduces Colonial Life’s workplace benefits solutions, and conducts needs assessments to align products with client priorities. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting and generating new business, scheduling and leading client meetings, presenting benefits options, and supporting enrollment activities. The role also involves coordinating with internal teams, tracking sales activities and results, and providing ongoing service and support to existing accounts. The representative is expected to meet sales targets, maintain accurate records in sales systems, and uphold ethical and customer-focused practices in all interactions.
Qualifications
- Strong sales, business development, and client relationship-building skills, with the ability to identify opportunities and close deals.
- Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to explain benefit options clearly and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Organizational, time management, and follow-up skills to manage multiple accounts, appointments, and enrollment activities efficiently.
- Basic proficiency with digital tools and CRM or sales tracking systems to document activities and manage pipelines.
- Ability to work independently on-site in Montgomery, TX, while collaborating with agency and corporate teams as needed.
- Prior experience in insurance, employee benefits, or B2B sales is highly preferred; familiarity with voluntary benefits is a plus.
- Willingness to obtain and maintain applicable state insurance licensing (training and support may be provided).
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business, marketing, or a related field is beneficial.
