Job Summary
- Registered or certified Medical Assistant to coordinate surgeons schedules and assists patients with scheduling surgical procedures.
General Duties
- Coordinates surgical procedure date with patient and according to assigned providers templates.
- Schedules and provides patient with details of preparation and or instructions.
- Confirms and enter patient demographic information along with insurance information.
- Obtains prior authorizations for scheduled procedures.
- Reschedules as needed.
- Utilizes providers schedules according to blocks.
- Releases blocks not utilized timely in accordance with block policies.
- Opens block schedules as needed to maximize provider schedules.
- Maintains templates for assigned provider.
- Responsible for entering assigned provider time off.
- Performs a variety of routine clerical tasks.
- Covers department during staff time/days off.
- Maintains clean and orderly area.

Job Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Previous scheduling work-related experience
- Medical Assistant certification
- Computer skills
- EPIC experience a plus
