What You'll Do
As an Accountant, you'll work closely with the Controller to support the financial operations of the Credit Union by:
- Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of general ledger accounts
- Preparing and analyzing financial information used to support key business decisions
- Assisting with monthly financial statements and regulatory reporting
- Managing accounts payable functions for all entities
- Researching and resolving accounting discrepancies
- Supporting audits, examinations, and vendor relationships
- Partnering with departments throughout the organization to provide financial insight and guidance
- Contributing to department projects, process improvements, and strategic initiatives
- Serving as a trusted member of the Finance team by providing cross-functional support as needed

Qualifications
We're looking for candidates with:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to interpret and analyze financial reports
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Credit union or financial institution accounting experience a plus
- Ability to be bonded in accordance with State of Iowa and Credit Union requirements
