We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
Job Summary:
The clinical coordinator for the medical assisting program will provide administrative support and clinical coordination to the program director of medical assisting, including student scheduling, student and preceptor assessments, compilation of data, communication with supervised clinical practice experience sites, and other operational activities.
Required Qualifications:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the medical assisting program, the program director and faculty by developing, maintaining, and expanding all aspects of the clinical phase of the curriculum.
- Coordinate comprehensive clinical site evaluations. Conduct regularly scheduled clinical visits to all clinical facilities during each semester, conduct and report clinical site evaluations.
- Select and approve appropriate practicum sites and provide orientation for the on-site supervisors.
- Provide oversight of the practicum experience.
- Ensure appropriate and sufficient evaluation of student achievement in the practicum experience.
- Provide general administrative support for the clinical phase. Identify opportunities for operational improvement and facilitate implementation.
- In consultation with the program director, ensure that all program operations are in compliance with accreditation standards.
- Establish and maintain community partnerships for new or ongoing program initiatives by establishing and maintaining clinical practice experiences
- Coordinate presentation of job opportunities and employment options for students.
- Participate in efforts to promote and publicize the program, such as recruitment fairs and professional conferences.
- Collect and enter information for database and tracking system on clinical activities.

- Knowledge of the disciplines in Medical Assisting
- Knowledge of the requirements for certifications (hours and skills)
- Knowledge of site requirements for clinicals
- Demonstrated skill in writing
- Technical fluency including MS Office Suite
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills including attention to detail
- Ability to work and effectively communicate with a diverse group of constituents including college officials, faculty, students, and community health care providers
- Ability to compile, manage, and interpret data
- Ability to assess project management needs
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and outlook while prioritizing and multitasking under pressure amid deadlines
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work. Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, plus stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Occasional physical effort required.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a health science-related field from an accredited institution and two (2) years of experience in direct patient care OR an associate degree in a health science-related field from an accredited institution and four (4) or more years of direct patient care.
Preferred
Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
Licenses and Certifications
A valid and current license or certification in a healthcare (e.g. Medical Assisting, Nursing or other healthcare professional) required.
