Under regular supervision, provides routine and emergency technical support and assistance in the maintenance and troubleshooting of District-wide information systems; performs system installation, IT support and related work as required. Reports to the Director of Information Technology.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provides timely technical support to users for all IT systems such as computer hardware, software, network, telecommunication and instructional systems through on-site, remote or telephone support.
Installs, maintains and supports personal computers, network systems and related technology equipment and software.
Monitors work order system for IT support requests, prioritizes work, responds either in person or remotely.
Follows through on support requests to ensure closure and user satisfaction.
Performs duties accurately, works independently, focuses on task, maintains schedules and meets deadlines.
Troubleshoots problems with equipment, systems, and connectivity issues; completes repairs as necessary and/or
escalates to other technical staff to resolve as appropriate.
Installs, tests, and supports computer hardware and software for both instructional and administrative operations.
Performs virus and/or malware removal to detect, prevent, and address protentional security threats.
Moves, sets up and arranges computer equipment as needed.
Provides software application support including but not limited to: Windows Operating Systems, Google, Microsoft Office, SMART software and other Windows compatible programs.
Installs Ethernet and fiber optic cable, paging speakers, interactive white boards, projectors, audio/video equipment.
Maintains accurate records of repairs, projects and IT systems.
Operates a variety of equipment such as computers, printers, network equipment, peripherals, audio-visual equipment, copier, calculator, telephone, etc.; uses clerical, copier, computer supplies, small hand tools.
Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, coworkers, other district administrators and staff, school administrators and staff, vendors/service providers, and the general public.
Attends training, seminars and workshops, etc. and reads technical manuals to maintain and enhance job knowledge and skills.
Performs other duties as required to support the Department of Information Technology.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requires high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by formal training, special courses or self-education that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of one year of college education or specialized advanced training in computer technology or a closely related field, supplemented by six to nine months of experience in computer software and hardware installation and maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
