College Hospital is a non-profit organization that provides mental health and substance abuse treatment to individuals in Cerritos, CA. We are seeking 1 fulltime AT Aide's to join our team in our Cerritos, CA location. Our Activity Therapy Aide program provides direct programmatic care applicable to any unit or age assigned; participates in patient and family teaching; assumes responsibility for completing all assigned duties; works cooperatively with treatment care personnel; and assumes leadership in patient groups.
Job Duties:
- Practices accurate, concise, timely and legible documentation of patient behavior, reactions and own interventions.
- Maintains a professional approach to patient care at all times.
- Functions as role model for patients regarding appropriate behavior.
- Effectively demonstrates ability to act independently when planning for groups.
- Regularly utilizes de-escalation as the preferred means of controlling patient behavior.
- Assists in collection of data of patient leisure functioning and documents observation.
- Effectively assists with training and education of staff in the EMR system.
- Effectively performs additional duties and responsibilities as position requires.
Required Skills:
- Experience conducting activity group or college degree in a healthcare related field.
- Experience in psychiatric setting with direct patient care preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
