A growing and well-established commercial plumbing contractor serving the Fort Worth, Texas area is seeking an experienced Commercial Plumbing Project Manager to lead and manage field operations across multiple commercial construction projects. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, maximizing workforce productivity, coordinating resources, and driving project success while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.
The ideal candidate will be a results-driven professional with extensive experience in commercial plumbing operations, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven ability to oversee large field teams and complex construction activities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Direct and manage day-to-day field operations for multiple commercial plumbing projects simultaneously.
- Provide leadership and guidance to superintendents, foremen, field crews, and subcontractors to ensure successful project execution.
- Develop staffing strategies and allocate labor resources to meet project demands and schedule requirements.
- Monitor project performance, workforce productivity, and construction progress throughout all phases of work.
- Conduct regular jobsite visits to assess safety compliance, workmanship quality, labor efficiency, and overall project status.
- Collaborate with project managers and company leadership to ensure operational activities support project goals and company objectives.
- Coordinate the acquisition, scheduling, and distribution of materials, equipment, tools, and other project resources.
- Review labor productivity reports, operational data, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Assist with cost management efforts by monitoring labor expenditures, equipment utilization, and material usage.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, general contractors, vendors, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
- Support project documentation processes, including change orders, RFIs, field instructions, and project closeout activities.
- Address operational challenges promptly to minimize delays and maintain project schedules.
- Ensure compliance with company safety programs, OSHA regulations, and all jobsite requirements.
- Coach, mentor, and develop field personnel while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in strategic planning initiatives aimed at enhancing operational performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Extensive understanding of commercial plumbing systems, construction practices, and field operations management.
- Proven experience leading commercial plumbing operations, construction teams, or large-scale commercial projects.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Experience with workforce scheduling, labor forecasting, and operational planning.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with construction management software is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record preferred.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience in commercial plumbing operations, field supervision, or construction management.
- Prior experience overseeing field personnel, subcontractors, and daily project execution is required.
- OSHA certification is considered an advantage but is not required.
