Our top direct client is looking for a Database Consultant
The client is a Fortune 50 multi-billion dollar revenue generating organization with a spectrum of products and services throughout major operating businesses
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure performance, scalability, security, and availability of MySQL databases.
- Prepare documentation, best practices, and specifications.
- Work as an expert on MySQL implementation and design
- Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary
- Provide guidance and expertise on tuning MySQL implementation
- Help engineering teams migrate from Oracle to MySQL.
Qualifications
Tools/skills:
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git / SVN
- E/R Diagramming tools
- MySQL Workbench
Must Have Skills:
- Proficiency in MySQL database management, minimum 5 years.
- Experience with recent versions of MySQL
- Understanding of MySQL’s underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB and RocksDB
- Experience with replication configuration in MySQL
- Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL
- Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements
- Knowledge of MySQL features, such as its event scheduler
- Experience on architecting and designing MySQL databases
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
- Knowledge of limitations in MySQL and their workarounds in contrast to other popular relational databases
