Job Summary:
A leading healthcare technology organization is seeking a highly motivated Biologist II – Ligand Binding Assay Bioanalyst to support quantitative bioanalysis activities within a fast-paced research environment. The role focuses on ligand binding assay workflows, bioanalytical sample analysis, assay development support, and laboratory operations for large-molecule therapeutics. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, experience with ligand binding platforms, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a collaborative setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Independently plan and execute bioanalytical sample analysis using multiple biological matrices including serum and tissue lysates
• Perform ligand binding assays for Pharmacokinetic, Pharmacodynamic, Toxicokinetic, and Anti-Drug Antibody studies using Meso Scale Discovery platforms
• Conduct pre-clinical sample analysis using manual and automated assay workflows
• Support assay development, optimization, troubleshooting, and validation activities as needed
• Analyze, interpret, and present experimental data to support downstream scientific decisions
• Prepare, review, document, and archive bioanalytical data in electronic laboratory systems and laboratory information management systems
• Maintain laboratory equipment, reagent inventory, and sample inventory to support daily operations
• Communicate experimental plans, assay outcomes, and technical findings effectively across multidisciplinary teams
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within laboratory and operational workflows
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacology, or related scientific discipline
• Minimum 2 years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience with a Master’s degree OR 4 years with a Bachelor’s degree
• Hands-on experience with ligand binding assay workflows including ELISA and Meso Scale Discovery platforms
• Experience performing Pharmacokinetic, Pharmacodynamic, Toxicokinetic, or Anti-Drug Antibody assays
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
• Experience operating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation independently
• Proficiency with laboratory data systems, Microsoft Excel, and Laboratory Information Management Systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare technical documentation
• Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative and dynamic laboratory environment
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience independently developing ligand binding assays
• Experience with laboratory automation systems
• Previous exposure to bioanalytical operations supporting large-molecule therapeutics
• Experience working with multidisciplinary scientific teams in a regulated environment
