The Housekeeper's duties involve general cleaning of all assigned campus areas. Clean floors, vacuum, sweep, strip, wax and buff floors, extract carpets, wash windows, walls, etc. Empty trash receptacles and pick up litter; clean, sanitize and stock bathrooms, etc. Applicants must have the ability to lift heavy equipment such as a vacuum cleaner or floor buffer (l5-50 lbs.).

The college offers competitive compensation in addition to a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability. Full-time employees receive a generous amount of vacation and holiday pay upon starting at the college. After completing one year of service, eligible dependents may apply for tuition remission and exchange programs. Employees are eligible to take undergraduate classes immediately upon hire, tuition free, and after one year of service for graduate degrees. Preference will be given to those candidates who can work a 2:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. shift; however, other shift options may be discussed during the interview process.

Qualifications

A minimum of one year as a housekeeper is desired. General knowledge and skills related to routine housekeeping and with commercial/institutional cleaning experience desirable. Must be able to perform heavy custodial work and operate cleaning equipment. Ability to understand and follow written instructions, labels and warnings required, along with the ability to work cooperatively with others.
