The Hogan Sports Center at Colby-Sawyer College is seeking a motivated and customer service focused candidate for this full-time position to create a welcoming environment for all guests while supporting the daily facility operations. The Hogan Sports Center serves both the college community and the public through memberships, day passes and event programming.
The schedule for this position will be Monday, Thursday and Friday from 1-9p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 8a.m.-1p.m, with some flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist members, students, visitors and phone calls in a friendly and professional manner.
- Ensure there is an accurate record of who is in the building at all times by monitoring member check- in.
- Respond to safety or security issues in the Hogan Sports Center by either handling the situation if it is of a routine nature or by contacting the proper authorities.
- Provide accurate membership and facility information to all guests and process memberships, guest passes, sports teams and rental deposits, program payments and gift certificates using RecDesk software.
- Record reservations for facility space in Hogan and Mercer gym.
- Accurately record and safeguard all monies collected during an individual shift through RecDesk and cash drawer.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front desk and facility areas.
- Receive and process deliveries as needed.
- Set up basketball hoops, curtains and bleachers in fieldhouse as needed.
- Secure building at closing time and record pool filtration system readings.
- Carry out projects for Hogan or other college departments as requested (commencement stuffers, collating, etc.)
- High school education or the equivalent, including basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Basic computer and point of sales skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and work independently.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with a customer service mindset.
- Desirable (but not required) qualifications include previous reception or business experience, CPR and/or First Aid certification and interest in collegiate athletics and recreation.
