Role Description
We are looking for an attorney with a strong foundation in real estate purchases and sales to work alongside our team of other attorneys and legal staff. An ideal candidate would have familiarity and experience with real estate transaction procedures on both sides of the seller/purchaser relationship, for both commercial and residential projects.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate real estate closings, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and meeting critical deadlines
- Initiate, manage, and maintain residential and commercial real estate purchase and sale files with accuracy and attention to detail
- Draft contracts, transfer documents, escrow agreements, loan documents, opinion letters, entity documents, and title-related documents, including easement-related materials
- Communicate effectively with clients, courts, vendors, title companies, and other parties via phone, email, and written correspondence
- Work alongside firm staff on non-real-estate matters, including civil litigation and administrative cases, as necessary
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed to practice law in the state of Connecticut
- Access to personal transportation throughout the state of Connecticut
Qualifications
- Preference given to 5 years of experience and expertise in the field of real estate
- Strong foundation in written and verbal communication, including negotiation and dispute resolution
- Strong background with both Connecticut Practice Book legal procedure and Connecticut statutory knowledge, including the Marketable Title Act
- Attention to detail and critical thinking
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
