About the Role:
Employment type: Permanent, full-time, 1 year contract renewal cycle.
Salary: $70,000 to $90,000 pa (dependent on experience).
Start date: 1 September 2026, with an expectation to attend orientation during the final week of August.
York Prep School is seeking a dedicated High School History Teacher to join its faculty, responsible for teaching up to four sections of History across grades 9–12 while fulfilling assigned faculty duties. Reporting to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and working closely with the Department Chair, the successful candidate will create engaging, differentiated lessons, oversee research projects, and develop and assess student work while thoughtfully identifying individual strengths and learning needs. The role requires the use of multi-modal and special education strategies to support diverse learners, including students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADHD, and executive functioning challenges. The teacher will collaborate closely with learning specialists, families, the wellness team, and school leadership to promote student growth and success. This position follows a structured schedule of Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 1:40 p.m., with availability required for morning and afternoon “Jump Start” sessions and occasional after-school meetings.
