Overview
The Loan Processing Specialist is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and processing consumer, commercial, and residential loan documentation while ensuring compliance with bank policies, regulatory requirements, and underwriting guidelines. This position works closely with lenders, underwriters, title companies, and borrowers to facilitate timely and accurate loan closings and funding.
Duties
- Obtain credit bureau(s) reports.
- Proactively communicate with business developers, title companies, attorneys, borrowers, and internal departments to obtain required documentation, resolve outstanding items, and advance files toward closing.
- Prepare, review, and deliver required compliance disclosures for loan files, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to applicable regulations and internal policies.
- Ensure proper verification and supporting documentation is in the file for processing.
- Review loan files for completeness and adherence to underwriting guidelines and submit recommendations to the appropriate loan approval authority as needed.
- Assemble and maintain loan files, verifying that required documentation is properly collected, organized, and retained in accordance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Obtain and coordinate verifications of employment, payoff statements, and other third-party documentation necessary to support loan processing and closing. Perform administrative functions including file maintenance, correspondence, record retention, and audit support activities as needed.
- Maintain complete and accurate loan files in accordance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and audit standards
- Meet established processing deadlines and service level expectations while maintaining quality and accuracy standards.
- Assure that all necessary documentation has been received and conditions for closings have been met prior to closing of loan.
- Cross-train and provide operational support to other Compliance and Processing team members as needed.
- Any other duties assigned by the leadership team.
- Input loan data for loan compliance and/or underwriting.
Experience & Education
- Minimum of two years of experience in community bank loan processing, loan documentation, banking operations, or a related financial services role required.
- Experience with ComplianceOne Lending, ComplianceOne Mortgage, and/or Fiserv Premier banking systems is strongly preferred. Associates degree or greater preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, information retention, and a high degree of accuracy.
- Working knowledge of banking regulations, loan documentation requirements, and compliance standards.
- Ability to multitask, adapt to changing priorities, and perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to take direction and be proactive in seeking additional duties and responsibilities.
- Strong communication skills including written and verbal communication.
- Mathematical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain strict confidentiality of customer and bank information
Physical Requirements

Pay: $21.64 - $36.06 per hour
