What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floating Teller position at Coffee County Bank?
Overview
Tellers serve as the Bank’s primary front-line customer service representatives and are responsible for creating a welcoming environment for our clients. Key job functions include greeting customers upon entrance to the bank, processing transactions in accordance with bank policies and procedures, assisting with customer inquiries, answering and assisting with phone calls, and recognizing cross-sell opportunities as appropriate. The Floating Teller will be responsible for filling in staffing needs among all branch locations.
Responsibilities
1. Represent the bank in a courteous and professional manner to customers, coworkers, and the general public.
2. Provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service in the processing of transactions.
3. Assist customers (both in person and on the phone) with transactional needs according to policy and procedures, including answering basic customer inquiries regarding account balances, transaction history, service charges, interest rates, etc. as appropriate.
4. Maintain daily operational standards, including but not limited to cash drawer security, daily balance of cash drawer, item capture procedures, counterfeit currency identification, count and roll coins, balance ATM, adequate supplies in teller station, etc.
5. Demonstrate knowledge of available products and services, and educate customers, as appropriate, on emerging bank technology and digital solutions such as mobile, online, ATM and other offerings.
6. Recognize customer needs and refer customers to appropriate bank partner(s) for cross-sell or service opportunities.
7. Protect the bank from unnecessary risk or exposure by being familiar with bank procedures and confidentiality guidelines, including but not limited to currency transaction reports, suspicious activity reports, Regulation CC holds and documentation, robbery procedures, etc.
8. Provide consistent, distinctive service to all customers when delivering the Coffee County Bank service experience.
9. Practice safe and sound bank procedures, including adherence to applicable laws and regulations, internal controls, operational procedures and risk management policies; adhere to security protocols for robbery, fraud, opening/closing process, cash controls, teller procedures, etc.
10. Regular and reliable attendance.
11. Filling staffing needs among all branch locations.
12. Other duties as assigned by the leadership team.
Education and Experience
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Financial and/or customer service experience preferred.
3. Experience in Fiserv Navigator preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
2. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
3. Business Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
4. Foundational Computer Skills - Frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, etc.
5. Problem solving capabilities.
Physical Requirements
1. Prolonged periods of sitting and/ or standing.
2. Mobility and usage of hands, arms, fingers, and legs for the purpose to walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, grab, and grasp.
3. Ability to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 20 pounds.
4. Capability to hear within normal ranges, communicate verbally, and vision to see near and far along with peripheral and colored vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
5. Repetitive motion of upper body required for extended use of computer.
6. Travel is required depending on staffing needs at other branch locations.
