Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support physicians and clinical staff in providing high-quality patient care. The CMA will perform a combination of clinical and administrative responsibilities, assist with patient flow, and ensure a positive experience for patients throughout their visit.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and room patients, obtain medical histories, vital signs, and medication information.
- Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with examinations and minor procedures.
- Perform clinical duties such as injections, phlebotomy, specimen collection, EKGs, and other duties within scope of practice.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring supplies and equipment are properly stocked and sanitized.
- Collect, label, and process laboratory specimens in accordance with established procedures.
- Document patient information accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) system.
- Coordinate patient appointments, referrals, prescriptions, and follow-up care as needed.
- Communicate with patients regarding medications, instructions, appointments, and routine clinical information as directed by the provider.
- Assist with prior authorizations, insurance-related documentation, and other administrative tasks.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and other applicable healthcare regulations.
