Coda Search is partnering with a leading alternative asset management firm who is seeking to hire a VP of FP&A to join its growing finance team. This individual will play a key role in driving financial planning, forecasting, fund modeling, and business analytics across the organization while partnering closely with senior leadership to support strategic decision-making. The position will also oversee a small team and help enhance reporting, processes, and financial infrastructure as the firm continues to grow.
This opportunity is ideal for a finance professional with 8 years of experience within alternative investments, preferably credit, though candidates from private equity, private markets, hedge funds, or other alternative asset classes will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the firm's FP&A function, including annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range financial planning for a key business segment.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models for funds, products, and strategic initiatives.
- Partner with executive leadership to provide financial insights, scenario analysis, and recommendations that support business decisions.
- Analyze fund performance, profitability, expenses, management fees, incentive income, and key operating metrics.
- Produce executive-level reporting packages, dashboards, and presentations for senior management.
- Drive business analytics initiatives by identifying trends, risks, and opportunities across the organization.
- Support strategic projects including new fund launches, capital planning, acquisitions, and operational initiatives.
- Evaluate and improve financial reporting processes, controls, and planning systems to increase efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate with Accounting, Investor Relations, Operations, Treasury, and Investment teams on firmwide initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA and/or CFA is a plus.
- 8 years of progressive FP&A, corporate finance, or strategic finance experience.
- Experience within an alternative asset management firm is required, with a preference for private credit; candidates from private equity, real estate, infrastructure, hedge funds, or other alternative investment strategies will also be considered.
- Strong financial modeling and forecasting capabilities with the ability to analyze complex investment and operating data.
- Experience building budgets, forecasts, and executive reporting for senior leadership.
- Previous experience managing or mentoring junior finance professionals.
Salary : $300,000 - $450,000
